Centurion Wood XL (91-110cm)

Centurion Wood is wood for the aquarium with deep, dark brown tones and graceful shapes. Whimsical, elegant, authentic and complex; Centurion Wood has it all.

For years the wood has been carefully cultivated in Mediterranean areas. Some pieces are more than 100 years old. The wood represents the relationship between humans and the earth. The pieces are often elongated in shape. That sounds boring, but nothing could be further from the truth. Countless twists and bulges give the wood a fascinating dynamic. Nowhere is the surface the same and there are lines, cracks and knots everywhere. This is ideal for growing epiphytes on solid ground.

In our opinion, Centurion Wood might not be an obvious choice for a traditional aquascape. This is a hardscape type that absolutely must be seen and will quickly gain an upper hand in the aquarium. For those who want something different, this is an original choice. A combination with dark stones such as Lava Stone Dark, Yamaya Stone, Dark Seiryu Stone or Round Flat Rock produces a good match. The elongated shape also makes it easy to work at heights. Ideal for Juwel aquariums, for example, where the height is greater than the depth. Or as an alternative to the (boring) tusks that we often see in Amazon biotope aquariums. How beautiful is it to see angelfish or discus fish swimming through them?

A shallow aquarium or terrarium? Centurion Wood is also ideal for this. It finds a perfect connection with the land area. Ferns, bromeliads or tillandsias can be attached to it in no time. Those who are creative can place a piece on a plate or bowl and dress it with moss and tillandsias. The wood is beautiful, so it is quite easy to create a beautiful overall picture.

Centurion Wood properties

Photo is indicative. Price is per piece. The color in the photo may differ from reality. TIP: Combine multiple pieces (of different sizes) of Centurion Wood for maximum effect!

NOTE: In many cases the wood floats. In the first month it will release a lot of tanins that discolor the water. Before use in the aquarium, first soak the piece of wood in water to ensure that it sinks on its own and the discoloration has diminished. Short boiling or rinsing in warm water speeds up this process. Depending on the thickness, it may still take some time. Completely natural product. Mold formation in the first period is normal and harmless. Use at your own risk.
