Spiderwood XL (51-70cm)
Spiderwood (also called Redmoor Wood) is perhaps the most popular type of wood for the aquarium. This Azalea root wood is called Spiderwood, thanks to the many branches that are reminiscent of spiders.
Wood normally floats, but the big advantage of this wood is that it sinks after some time in the aquarium. Spiderwood remains good under water for a very long time and releases little to no substances into the aquarium. Moss, Java ferns and Anubias can be attached to the winding branches for added decorative value. The many twisted branches provide beautiful hiding places for your fish. All in all, a hardscape using Spiderwood creates a decorative, natural atmosphere in the aquarium!

Spiderwood user manual
Before use in the aquarium, the root wood must be pre-soaked long enough to ensure that the wood does not float to the top. Soaking or boiling the wood in warm water accelerates this process and kills any organisms present. Depending on the thickness of the wood it takes 1-2 days, but can sometimes take weeks. OUR TIP: To prevent the wood from floating, it can be weighed down by attaching a stone to it with a tie-warp. It is completely normal for Spiderwood to produce a white slimy layer in the first period. This is a type of fungus and will go away on its own and is harmless. Because this is a natural product, it can release substances into the aquarium. Use is at your own risk.
