Catappa Bark tubes are pieces of dried bark from the Sea Almond tree. Catappa bark has a positive influence on water quality. The rolled shape creates a safe hiding place for shrimps. Catappa Bark lasts a long time in aquarium.
The use of Catappa leaves and bark in fish farming has been known for years. The leaves are assigned anti-fungal properties, which means that fewer eggs are lost. In addition, it lowers the pH of the aquarium in a natural way. Tanins that are slowly released from the wood have a stress-reducing effect on fish and shrimp. It is obvious to use Catappa in every aquarium. Bettas, dwarf cichlids and catfish in particular will appreciate the presence of Catappa in the aquarium. Catappa Bark tubes are even more fun for shrimp. The inside offers protection and can be searched for food. The outside has a different texture on which a lot of food will also form.
The tanins that Catappa Bark tubes release can give the water a brown tint. Catappa Bark has a stronger effect than Catappa leaves. They also last longer in the aquarium. Use caution when dosing Catappa Bark. After a month, the biggest effect will have passed.
Keep dry. Unlimited shelf life. Immediately ready for use, but rinsing with hot water is recommended.
This is a 100% natural product. In the beginning there may be discoloration of the water. If more is added, the discoloration is stronger. The pH-lowering effect is then also stronger as a result. They will float for a short time and then sink to the bottom. There is no need to take them out of the water.
