The CO2 supply in the aquarium can be switched off with the solenoid valve – for example to regulate the pH or at night.
By switching off the supply at night, up to 50% CO2 can be saved, because photosynthesis only takes place during daylight, with plants absorbing carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen. At night or without light, the plants consume oxygen, therefore CO2 fertilization would not be beneficial.
This solenoid valve has been specially developed for the EHEIM LEDcontrol+ lighting control system. It is connected to the EHEIM powerLED+ lighting and LEDcontrol+ and switches off the CO2 supply during sunset at night. At sunrise the CO2 supply is activated again. The solenoid valve can also be operated without LEDcontrol+ with a standard timer. Please note: The solenoid valve is not dimmable.
For pH-controlled CO2 fertilization, this solenoid valve can also be connected to EHEIM pHcontrol+e. The CO2 supply can then be automatically switched via the smartphone, tablet or browser when a set pH value has been reached.
