Foreground plants are basicly aquarium plants that stay low. Combine different types of aquarium plants that provide contrast with each other in color, leave shape and height. This way a playful and interesting under water landscape can be created.

    Alternanthera reineckii 'Mini' is a very popular aquarium plant due to its red color and is characterized by compact growth and slower growth rate. Ideal for a small aquarium or as a foreground plant in larger layouts.

  • Anubias barteri 'Mini Coin'

    Anubias 'Mini Coin' is a variety of Anubias barteri found at the Tropica aquarium nursery in Denmark. The plant is one of the smallest Anubias, each leaf is smaller than a fingernail. It is just as easy to grow as other Anubias species, so it does not like bright light.

    Anubias 'Petite' is a mutation of the Anubias nana and has even smaller leaves. This also grows very slowly and is not always easy to keep in good conditions. It remains smaller than 5cm and the rhizome grows to 10cm or longer.

    Eleocharis pusilla 'mini' is a variant of the well-known Needle Grass family and is even smaller than Eleocharis parvula. This dwarf aquarium plant is therefore predestined for use in the nano aquarium.     Lobelia cardinalis 'Mini' is a smaller form of the normal Lobelia cardinalis. This dwarf mutation arose by chance when propagating the normal variant. The plant has beautiful, fresh green leaves that are short together.
