Lilaeopsis brasiliensis is a commonly used plant species to create a lawn in the aquarium. The plant is originally from South America and grows to a height of about 4 to 7 cm with plenty of lighting. But too much lighting is also not recommended.
When planting in the aquarium, it is advisable to plant small portions (approx. 1/8 pot) with a few centimeters in between. Not everyone has the same success in keeping this species well. Due to its somewhat slow growth, it is sensitive to beard algae. When the plant is kept in the right conditions, it is a real asset.
