Glossostigma elatinoides is without a doubt also one of the most popular foreground plants in a planted aquarium. This aquarium plant is originally from New Zealand and will form a compact, green carpet with sufficient light. Best known through the early works of Takashi Amano, the plant has quickly gained popularity.
When planting small portions, use fine aquarium plant tweezers. Place the portions next to each other with a distance of approximately 1 cm between them. A beautiful carpet will form within a few weeks. To keep Glossostigma elatinoides beautiful green in color, it is recommended to plant the plant in ADA Aqua Soil Powder with sufficient light of at least 1 Watt/L, sufficient Iron, Nitrate (>5mg/L), Phosphate (>0 .5mg/L) and CO2. If there is too little light, the stems will grow upwards. Therefore, do not place the plant under overhanging other plant species.
