Divide the plant into small portions with a gap of 2 to 4 cm. It will spread via runners, producing a new plant every few centimeters. Average lighting is sufficient and CO2 is not necessary, but will certainly have a positive effect on growth. Preferably also provide a nutrient-rich substrate or sufficient fertilization with iron and trace elements for the best results.
In some cases Sagittaria subulata can also produce longer leaves up to 60cm, but normally it does not grow taller than 10cm. If it is allowed to grow to 60cm, it can be used as a background plant.
