Under water the leaves become narrower and longer (about 20-40 long). In the aquarium, this plant can also grow out of the water, which can be very decorative in an open aquarium. If this is not desired, the long leaves can be cut off before they reach the water surface. The next leaves will remain shorter and remain submerged.
