For growing bee shrimp, a temporary hardness (KH) of 0-2 is recommended in combination with a pH of less than 7. This is to prevent the formation of ammonia. However, to achieve these values, the total hardness (GH) can quickly become too low. In such a situation it is recommended to harden the water with Liquid Mineral Ca+ to prevent shrimp mortality. The water hardness (KH) is not affected by this. Takayuki Shirakura recommends maintaining a total hardness (GH) of 5 or more for healthy and strong skin.
In a new aquarium, add 5 ml (about 60 drops) of Liquid Mineral Ca+ per 10 L of water. In already established aquariums with shrimps, divide this dosage over several days. Mix the change water in advance.
1 drop of Liquid Mineral Ca+ per 1 liter of water increases the total hardness (GH) by approximately 1° dGH
