SaltyShrimp Sulawesi Mineral 8.5

SaltyShrimp Sulawesi Mineral 8.5 was developed based on the results of scientific research into the water chemistry of the Malili lakes on Sulawesi. It serves to mineralize osmosis water, rainwater, distilled water, etc. and requires a little more effort to completely dissolve. The water enriched with these minerals will almost exactly match that of Lake Towuti with a high pH of 8.5 and also reduces the amount of pathogens.

Sulawesi Mineral 8.5 contains all the important minerals and trace elements that the well-known shrimps from Sulawesi need for their health, development and colors. The mineral promotes the microbiological regeneration of filter substrates. Increases carbonate hardness and total hardness with a ratio of KH/°dH = 0.78/1.0.

Remark:
The shrimp from Lake Towutimer on Sulawesi (for example the harlequin shrimp -Caridina woltereckae-, or the red-striped shrimp -Caridina striata-) are still difficult to breed in captivity. This was the reason to travel to the lakes on Sulawesi in 2011 (after a first trip in 2008) to take a look at the habitat conditions and to take water samples for analysis.
The results of these analyzes show fundamental differences in water chemistry compared to the Malili lakes. This results in a completely revised composition 'Sulawesi Mineral 8.5'.

Less finicky Sulawesi shrimp such as the cardinal shrimp (Caridina dennerli) can be successfully kept and farmed in both Sulawesi Mineral 7.5 and Sulawesi Mineral 8.5. For the more difficult species, we hope to achieve long-term successful breeding results by using Sulawesi Mineral 8.5, which is virtually identical to the water chemistry of Lake Towutime.

Dosage advice SaltyShrimp Sulawesi Mineral 7.5

Add Sulawesi Mineral 7.5 to osmosis water, rainwater, distilled water, etc. for re-mineralization to a total hardness (GH) of approximately 7 °dH and/or a conductivity of approximately 220 +/- 40 µS (Microsiemens) has been achieved. This corresponds to a slightly full measuring spoon (approx. 3 grams) in 20 liters of water.
Measuring spoon is included.

Usage advice:
Mix Sulawesi Mineral 7.5 with water outside the aquarium. It will dissolve almost completely if CO2 is added for several days. With a normal CO2 dosage (1 bubble per second) the salt will dissolve in about 3-4 days. If you dissolve the powder with CO2, aerate the water for at least 3 hours with an effervescent stone to drive out the CO2. After this the water is ready for use. It is advisable to keep the temperature in accordance with the aquarium water temperature. Also add the undissolved particles to the aquarium. Tighten the lid tightly again, because the powder absorbs moisture easily.
