The pH of the aquarium water changes on a regular basis. Among other things, by the addition of CO2 and by photosynthesis. Also is the pH affected by decoration materials such as wood and stone. The vast majority of aquarium plants and tropical fish prefer soft and acid water. Check the pH of the water regularly, for example before the insertion of new fish in the aquarium or in the periodic waterwissel.

Measure the PH (acidity) of the aquarium water:
The pH value indicates the acidity of the water. Water with a pH lower than 7.0 is acidic. Above is alkaline. Most tropical fish feel most comfortable in an acidic pH.
We recommend for a planted aquarium with a pH between 6.5 and 7.0.
