Phyllanthus fluitans comes from tropical parts of America. A nice floating plant with a special color palette. Leaves can turn green to brown-red and the roots turn red. That is quite unique and will create a special effect in the aquarium.
The surface of the leaves is water-repellent. Under intense lighting, the leaves become more red in color. With sufficient nutrients and light, the Phyllanthus flautans will grow easily and can cover the entire water surface. A rosette produces soft stems on which the leaves grow. They are hidden from above under the leaves. Multiplication occurs when the stems break. A new spot will then be created here. Under the right conditions, small star-shaped white flowers will also be formed.
Phyllanthus flautans is a very decorative plant that looks best in an open aquarium. It will also look great in the paludarium.
