Foreground plants are basicly aquarium plants that stay low. Combine different types of aquarium plants that provide contrast with each other in color, leave shape and height. This way a playful and interesting under water landscape can be created.
Eleocharis pusilla 'mini' is a variant of the well-known Needle Grass family and is even smaller than Eleocharis parvula. This dwarf aquarium plant is therefore predestined for use in the nano aquarium. After some time, Eleocharis acicularis 'Mini' will have covered the ground with a field full of fine, fresh green blades.
Lilaeopsis brasiliensis is a commonly used plant species to create a lawn in the aquarium. The aquarium plant is originally from South America and grows to a height of about 4 to 7 cm with plenty of lighting.
Lilaeopsis mauritiana is a Lilaeopsis species that needs less light than Lilaeopsis brasiliensis and also stays low (5-10cm). This aquarium plant was found in Mauritius in 1992 by Tropica founder Holger Windeløv.
