Inferno sand is a dark colored sand that looks very natural and is very similar to the types of silt and mud substrates found in aquatic habitats. This sand would be ideal for a biotope aquarium depicting lakes, rivers, pools and streams from the Amazon, West Africa or tropical Asia. The slightly reddish hue adds warmth and depth to the screen, while the mix of grain sizes not only looks natural, but is also easy to plant and allows fish such as cichlids and catfish to dig or sift through it. It can also be used excellently in an aquascape, especially in combination with bright green plants.
