Hazelnut shells are the lignified fruits of the tree hazel. These have an unusual appearance and are therefore very nice as decoration in the aquarium. All kinds of micro-organisms develop between the tangle of tentacles that can serve as food for small shrimps. Baby shrimps find shelter there. Substances are slowly released into the water that have a positive effect on the well-being of shrimps.
In a biotope aquarium, some can be scattered along the bottom to add extra detail to the aquarium. The natural character is thus enhanced.

1 jacket per 20 liters of water

These hazelnut shells are collected during harvest time and selected by hand. The hazelnut shells will float for a while and then sink on their own. Do not use more than one jacket per 20 liters of water at a time. Because this is a natural product, it can release substances into the water that can cause bacterial blooms. This in turn can lead to oxygen shortages. This applies to all natural decoration materials. Working evenly is therefore preferable.

Ik heb wat mos bevestigd aan de hazelnootmantels en zo in mijn aquascape ingevoegd. Het ziet er erg natuurlijk uit en de garnalen zijn er dol op.
