EHEIM Karbon

EHEIM Karbon active carbon filter material makes the aquarium clear, fresh and free of harmful substances. Absorbent filter materials are able to retain substances. Harmful substances such as chlorine, residues of medicines, treatment agents, pesticides, dyes, etc. can be stored in the activated carbon.

EHEIM Karbon is particularly suitable for use in a newly started aquarium. In particular because substances such as chlorine and residual agents from new products can end up in the aquarium water. These harmful substances are therefore safely collected. Use EHEIM Karbon for a short period of approximately 4 weeks. Place the activated carbon after the layer with mechanical and biological filter materials. Use a filter net (optionally included) for this.

Tip for using activated carbon:
Use absorbent filter material for several weeks. Harmful substances are stored in the filter material and can be released back into the water over time. If longer use is necessary, replace the material with new one. Normally, absorbent filter material is only needed when starting an aquarium or after treatment with medication.
