Microsorum pteropus is a fern from Asia that also grows well underwater as an aquarium plant. It grows to a height of 15-30cm and can be attached to a piece of wood or stone.
The rhizome must not be allowed to enter the substrate, as there is a risk of rotting. Microsorum pteropus attaches to wood or stones with a rough surface. Use fishing line or Wood Tight for this. To propagate it, the rhizome can be split. The plant will also develop adventitious plants on the tips of old leaves. Cut away old and brown leaves to make room for new leaves, but be careful not to confuse brown spots (the spores) with disease or dying leaves.
