Filopaludina martensi (White wonder snail)
Filopaludina martensi or also known as the White Wizard Snail or in Dutch the White Wonder Snail is a freshwater snail, native to Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam. This "white" variant comes from Thailand and grows to about 6cm.

Behavior in the aquarium
Filopaludina martensiis is a naturally calm, non-aggressive snail species. Unperturbed, it will move through the aquarium in search of food. He can also rest for long periods and then lies still. He usually looks for shelter under plants or stones. It does not get in the way of other residents and can therefore be kept in a variety of tropical aquariums.
Water quality
Like many snails, they prefer slightly harder, slightly alkaline water. Soft, acidic water will have a bad effect on their home. If there is a lack of calcium, the shell may develop cracks or become rough. Also avoid as many fluctuations in the water as possible. Good water parameters are a pH of 6-8 and a hardness of 5-20 dGH. An optimal temperature is between 20-26°C. Oxygenated water with a little exercise is appreciated.
Power supply
In the aquarium they will feed on all kinds of plant material (algae, dead plant remains, etc.). Excess fish food from flakes and food tablets is also eaten. They are real cleaners. He can also keep leaves of Anubias, for example, free of deposits, keep windows clean, etc. Calcium-rich food is recommended for good development of the house. Additional feeding can also be done with cooked vegetables.
Extra information
Filopaludina martensi is viviparous. The young develop in a kind of breeding chamber.
