EHEIM phosphateout chemically removes phosphate from the aquarium and thus inhibits the growth of algae. Phosphates are caused by organic pollution in the aquarium (fish feces, dead animals, overfeeding, etc.). The growth of blue algae in particular is related to high phosphate values.
