Plant the stems in a group, separately from each other with sufficient space between them for development of the leaf whorls. Under the right conditions with the addition of CO2 and a nutrient-rich soil, the plant can grow quickly. The stems can be pruned. New shoots will emerge from the stems left behind. The cut tops can be put back into the ground. Plant the shorter stems at the front and the longer ones at the back of the group so that as many buds as possible are visible.
