Murdannia keisak is an aquarium plant from Asia where it grows in rice fields and looks very similar to bamboo. The stems grow straight up and at a high rate.
Nymphaea lotus is a beautiful and varied species from West Africa with leaves from green to reddish brown and purple spots. In the aquarium it can grow to a size of 20 to 80cm.
Rotala rotundifolia literally means "plant with round leaves". However, this only applies to the above-water form. This aquarium plant comes from Asia and has long, thin underwater leaves of 2-3cm with stems of 15-30cm.

Vallisneria nana is an aquarium plant from Australia and has long thin leaves less than 1cm wide with a dark green color. The height is also quite low for a valisneria.
Vallisneria spiralis 'Tiger' comes from Asia and is an ideal plant for beginners, because it makes few demands on the aquarium. The name tiger is because of the pattern visible on the leaves. The leaves are 30-50cm long and 1-2 cm wide.
